it’s not often that i come across music that speaks to me on quite so many levels as the collaboration between chrysta bell and david lynch. i wouldn’t say i’m a die hard lynch fan, though of course i’m appreciative of him. mulholland drive was the first film to ever show me stories could develop in other ways than in the most literal one. and though i’ve still to actually see twin peaks, i do know the music. so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to me that he’s as mysterious and good in directing music, as he is in directing film. do me a favor: just watch the making of above. if that doesn’t inspire you to go down the rabbit hole discovering chrysta bell and lynch’s weirdly mesmerizing 80s synth music with the heart and soul of the blues, i don’t know what will.
