The Art Of Fielding

April 2, 2012 • Reading

i quickly gave up on my attempt to read a book a week (remember that? i must have been out of my mind.) i’ve finally finished steve jobs’ biography and i highly recommend it as an objective and very inspiring inside look at his life and work. but i was happy to get started on my newest fiction fix: the art of fielding by chad harbach.

i know i shouldn’t, but i always – always – judge a book by its cover and i knew immediately this typography and chalkboard inspired one couldn’t possibly disappoint. it’s about baseball only at first sight – above all i find it to be about human relationships, and i absolutely love the setting of the intertwining stories at a remote american college. brings back memories of my master’s thesis about coming of age novels set on american campuses – think prep, less than zero, the secret history and i am charlotte simmons.

sorry to bore you if i did – but if you were looking for good literature tips, i strongly suggest checking out all of these.
