i had heard a lot about escobar, yet it took me a while to finally make it there. it’s run by my friend’s sister and husband, and it is – in a word – charming. it has the right mix of vintage nostalgia and quirky warmth, the coffee menu is interesting and the food is good. it’s near the city’s diamond center, so i’m happy to have a client over there as an excuse to pop in to escobar a little more often in the future. also, if you’re taking a train somewhere and have some time to kill, avoid the starbucks at the central station and come here for a more authentic cup of joe.
