i’ll admit – i wouldn’t have considered vienna as a destination for a trip if it hadn’t been for hotel daniel. i always thought there wouldn’t be enough modern, cool places to visit. but i’m glad i started digging around for things to see and do, because vienna looks like it’s in the middle of some kind of transformation.

so yeah, hotel daniel. what can i say. it has erwin wurm’s boat on its roof. you can stay in an airstream trailer. its prices are really affordable, and its rooms are beautiful. just go and take a look at the website – i couldn’t imagine better branding or copy than that.
°
if there’s one thing i don’t look forward to when traveling to germany, austria or switzerland, it’s the local cuisine. i’m sorry, but i’ll never appreciate schnitzels and rösti. but in vienna, there’s mochi – and it might just be another reason why i started seriously considering vienna. it’s supposed to be a californian take on japanese food – sounds about perfect.
°
one thing i gravely underestimated before my research, was the art and culture scene in vienna. guess what – it’s not just about heritage and history, there’s loads of modern and street art to be experienced, too. my favorites are the very intriguing tonspur passage and the architekturzentrum wien – i’m a sucker for architecture.

and for those who simply need to get some shopping in, i’m thinking song will pretty much have every pretty designer thing you need.
Perfect aantrekkelijk :)
love this! i’m going there in 2 weeks actually, i might take you up on that hotel recommendation. vienna is also really great for interior designer shops, etc. i think its always been a happening spot, just underrated!
@hannelore a reason to go back! :)
@liesbeth let me know when you go!
@her oooh i’m jealous – definitely let me know how it goes, and i’m always interested in hearing about your favorite places over there.
