a few weeks ago, when i was in belgium for a few days, i spent one of them in ghent. i had a lot of catching up to do – visiting all the wonderful places i had been reading and writing about for so long. i started with shelter7, where i didn’t spend the night (though we’re planning on staying there very, very soon) but where i met the lovely brains behind the project, stephanie cnockaert.
she couldn’t have been a more wonderful person, full of ideas and inspiration, but that didn’t surprise me in the least after seeing how she had decorated her bed & breakfast. using objects from i/object (another favorite of mine) and mixing warm materials with modern architecture – this is truly a one of a kind place to stay when in ghent. i’m already looking forward to my next visit.
