i am counting down the days to my next visit to belgium – and not just to enjoy all my favorite places in my hometown antwerp. in two weeks, i’ll be soaking up the creative energy at beyonderground, belgium’s one-and-only graphic design festival in hasselt. if you’re from around hasselt, be sure to go check out the streets, because graphic design is taking over your hood, y’all – one sewer cover and shopping window at a time!

and even if you’re not from hasselt, or flanders, or belgium for that matter, i think you should seriously consider getting your pretty behind over there on friday april 26 and saturday april 27, during the festival’s main event. i’ll be moderating two roundtable talks – one with bloggers, the other with agencies representing graphic design talent – and there will be tons of presentations, workshops, talks, showcases and installations to listen to and gawk at.

they have artists flying in from all over the world and they are seriously the raddest people. and i know this because i interviewed every single one of them for beyonderground’s very own magazine. so yeah to conclude this little sales pitch: take a look at their website and buy your tickets now! #noregrets

the above pictures were taken by pablo hannon, one of the four geniuses behind the festival and my dear friend.
