Play Time

June 13, 2013 • Design

not one, but two creative belgians in this post and this reminds me i haven’t been giving enough love to the good stuff happening in my home country lately. anyhow, graphic designer and illustrator inge rylant collaborated with fashion designer mattia van severen, and together they present play time – a menswear collection and screenprinted book taking cues from the same visual inspirations.

mattia van severen is graduating from the antwerp academy this year – which in itself is quite the accomplishment. then he goes and takes the most ‘arts and crafts’ technique there is and makes it cool again, by flocking together a very graphic collection. taking a cue from his artisan play with dimensions, inge designed a book made up entirely of screenprinted illustrations that both in color and sensibility reference mattia’s vision.

they’ll host a one-off exposition of their combined work at pr agency oona’s headquarters on june 20, and i seriously recommend going to take a look up close.

p.s. inge has the raddest home – check out the pictures eefje de coninck took of her in her natural habitat right here.
