The Plantshop

November 22, 2013 • Design

i don’t usually go to a lot of shop openings, but i was happy to be in belgium when anne and hanna from online design shop baroness o. opened the doors to their latest pop-up adventure in antwerp. the plantshop is the creative clash between their own selection of design goodies, belgian designer sofie claes’ fashion label and her brother’s home grown plants, yves drieghe’s not too arty selection of magazines, coffee, food and so much more.

it’s located in an old marble atelier, so for those carrara fans out there it’s practically a mecca. but it’s also a very fitting background to the amalgam of cool stuff showcased on tables, racks and shelves. i love how anne and hanna – with their experience as designers – use simple things and materials to make a concept come together. if only to get a taste of their vision, i’d strongly suggest going in for a visit at vlasmarkt 30 in antwerp before they close end of december.

beware though – you’ll want everything.
