The Wedding // Part One

November 15, 2013 • Life

we thought long and hard about how we wanted to celebrate getting married. we had been together for ten years when we got engaged, so after all these years we thought it would be incredible to bring together our amazing group of friends and our families to hang out for the weekend, eat good food, get a little sentimental at the ceremony and a little nuts on the dance floor.

when we visited aire de bardenas last year, we knew it was the place where it should all go down. it’s a design hotel, but not in a snobby, elitist kind of way. the people we met there were all so, so nice, understanding and helpful, we couldn’t have wished for a better location. the weather did decide to add a little drama to our weekend (who knew it could rain in the desert?) but it didn’t spoil the fun.

i’m so happy to share a few snapshots our friend – and the incredibly talented photographer – mous lamrabat took on the night of our welcome dinner. it was so good to have everyone get to know each other before the day of the wedding, and one of my favorite memories was the impromptu guitar concert our friend kristof gave by the side of the pool. unrehearsed and unplanned, it was exactly as relaxed and fun as we’d hoped the night would be.
