Stay Copenhagen

“where did you stay in copenhagen?”
me – “well…”

despite how slightly awkward it sounds to reply ‘stay copenhagen‘ to the question above, i can’t think of a single thing that could hold me back from staying there again in the future.

when i was invited to visit the vipp headquarters last week, i figured it was the perfect opportunity to finally discover this property that had been popping up on my favorite design blogs all over the world. after all, it’s almost right around the corner from vipp. unfortunately, this also means the hotel is nowhere near the city center (and a good fifteen minute walk from the nearest metro station). but that’s nothing a borrowed bicycle can’t fix, right? besides, it showed me a part of copenhagen that i had never seen before – very residential, but in the best way imaginable. i wouldn’t mind snapping up some real estate here, as most of the apartment buildings have amazing architecture and a killer view on the river.

as for stay’s hotel rooms – that are basically full-blown apartments – they are ah-mazing. i was put up in such a wonderful corner suite, i had trouble convincing myself to leave for dinner, or, you know, ever. it’s at least twice the size of our geneva apartment, and it has a gorgeous marble bathroom, a sleek white kitchen and all the danish design furniture you can think of. lots of stuff from one of my favorites – hay, of course. every minute i spent in that room i was making mental notes and shopping lists. at least part of my excitement at staying here had to do with how perfectly my belongings seemed to fit in here. everything so sleek and clean and in various grey tones – it was my idea of heaven.

and the extras were plentiful. neatly arranged kitchen products? check. nicely branded coffee and cafetière? check. aveda amenities? check. free wifi, yummy breakfast and breathtaking view? check, check, aaaaaand check. stay, i’ll be back.

my things organized neatly on the table: beige wool tee cos // white tank top a.o.cms // grey tank top madewell // white zipper pouch muji // silver business cards pouch marc by marc jacobs // wool and leather macbook sleeve hard graft // e-reader kindle // knitted blazer maison scotch // knitted hat with leopard pompom i love mr. mittens // make-up pouch munishop (similar) // magazine the alpine review
