splitting up my story from our weekend in the languedoc into chapters didn’t exactly prevent this epic photo dump. i pondered ‘killing my darlings’ and only posting a selection of the very best snapshots, but then i realized a couple of things. firstly – i’m the boss of this place :) secondly, if a blog is not a place for oversharing, then what’s its purpose anyway? and thirdly, perhaps most importantly, lately i’ve been feeling a little restricted over on my favorite social media channel of all – INSTAGRAM. i want to share every single photo that is important to me, i want to share all the good times and the special moments, but time and again i find myself editing and deleting and hesitating to post too many photos in a row. i mean – i love a consistent and beautiful feed as much as the next (aesthically obsessed) person, but i gotta admit sometimes it takes the fun out of it.

luckily, i have plenty of whatsapp groups i abuse to spam people with my memories and favorite photos – whether the white balance is off or not. i’d like to take this opportunity to publicly apologize to the people i once tricked into joining these groups who now feel too polite to leave but haven’t figured out the mute option yet. yeah, #sorrynotsorry though. but then as i was editing the photos of this particular trip, i felt bad pushing them on all these innocent relatives and friends – especially the ones who needed a little break as much as we did – and i decided my blog was the one place i could turn to.

to share my enthusiasm for this incredible place on earth, CHATEAU ST PIERRE DE SERJAC. to share candid captures of juliet consciously celebrating easter for the first time in her life (it was all about the chocolate bunnies). to share too many pictures of the interior of our rental house, because i want to remember exactly how to design our dream home some day (i mean, that stove…) to share the amazing food we ordered from the restaurant (and enjoyed in front of the stove).

to remember how juliet dove off a tanning bed, head first on that gorgeous tile around the pool (my heart stopped beating for 2.3 seconds, but she was a trouper), how i wore the same dress for three days in a row and loved it, and how we tasted every wine on offer at the chateau. but also to remember those precious moments between the three of us – always that much more intense on holiday compared to home. to remember the way we stuck together and appreciated life during a difficult time.

i’m sorry, but a carefully edited selection of 5 photos just wasn’t going to cut it. as long as i have this blog, i’ll (ab)use it to collect and display my favorite moments, experiences and memories – edited, but not narrowed down too much.

we stayed in a lovely little house on the domain of CHATEAU ST PIERRE DE SERJAC • juliet is wearing a MARMAR sun hat, caramel colored romper from GRO COMPANY, caramel colored sweater, striped leggings and scarf from MINGO KIDS, bunny pajamas from GAP and striped bathing suit from TINY COTTONS (previous summer season) • my slippers are ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS, i got my andres sarda bathing suit via BUSTIQUE, my new favorite summer dress is from PLUTO ON THE MOON, that backpack from KAOS is going everywhere with us, all of our beach towels are from HAMMAM34 • all photos by stephanie duval and matthias rabaey

hi peter, so happy to hear my photos triggered you to book your own stay :) we stayed in ‘la grange n°28’ and i can highly recommend that unit. it’s the final one in a row, which means you have a larger L-shaped garden around the house. the pool wasn’t heated yet when we went, but from the beginning of may they do heat it – so you’ll enjoy it even more than we did ;)
