A Weekend In Megève

February 25, 2013 • Food and DrinkGenevaThe Alps

after a wonderful weekend spent skiing with friends i thought it was time i let you in on my favorite places in and around megève, our favorite wintersports domain super close to geneva (basically a one-hour drive away). ski passes here are not cheap, but they allow access to various different areas. our advice? plan enough time for lunch at any of them. we hardly ever get back on the slopes before two hours have passed at one of our preferred restaurants.

we love CÔTE 2000 for its patio in the sun and its cozy interior on grey days, L’ALPETTE for its swanky red-and-white looks and the valet for your skis, and the brand new L’ALPAGE DE PORREZ for its warm and superfriendly service, great bbq dishes and colorful outside area. and if you want to go all out, make sure you end your day with an apéritif at BRASSERIE DES ARTS, where a glass of wine will set you back much more than you care for, but where the views from the leather chesterfields covered in furry blankets truly are priceless.
