Jardin Botanique

February 19, 2014 • GenevaStyle

the jardin botanique is my favorite place to hang out in geneva when the weather is nice. i’d noticed those cool palmes & co exhibition posters all over town, and secretly hoped to find a little bit of california right here in switzerland, but alas – the exhibition amounted to little more than a few palm trees inside a greenhouse. not that it made the trip any less fun. it was unseasonally warm that day, and i always love exploring this part of geneva. the jardin botanique is huge and it is divided in two parts, one of which borders the lac léman.

after almost three years, i still get a little frustrated over how little this town has to offer in terms of restaurants, museums and coffee bars – all the things i thought i couldn’t live without. but coming to this park, looking out over the water and taking in the beautifully green surroundings, reminds me of all the things i discovered here – most of which i never thought i’d enjoy as much as i do now.

by the way – i also shared this outfit on myfashionblog.be, the last one of my guest contributions over there. i had so much fun over there for the past two months – thanks emma for inviting me! if you aren’t following myfashionblog yet, you should seriously consider it for daily style inspiration and a glimpse into the life of the powerhouse that is emma gelaude.

Varsity Love

December 16, 2013 • GenevaStyle

last weekend geneva was really, really cold. i totally loved it though, as it is finally beginning to feel like the holidays are coming. we went to the old town to eat roasted chestnuts and churros on the streets, shop for some christmas presents and take in the holiday decorations and lights everywhere.

it was the perfect opportunity to wear my baseball coat, as my husband has come to call it. i can’t tell you how long i had been looking for a varsity-like jacket before i stumbled upon this version (but i pinned this picture and this picture a loooong time ago). zalando kindly allowed me to pick out a christmas present to myself from their shop, and when i discovered this jacket by selected femme it was love at first sight. it’s warm like a coat but easy like a sweater, and – most importantly – it’s a lot more feminine and tailored than most varsity jackets i’ve seen.

i wore it with my favorite hat of the moment – the classic beanie from i love mr mittens with the leopard pom pom. it’s cotton, not wool – which doesn’t make it any less warm, but does make it a lot less prickly. #majorlove

also wearing a theory sweater // these incredibly soft and comfortable luxe sateen super skinny jeans kindly gifted to me by j.brand // this madewell tee (you can barely see) // chanel boots // and the geometrics bracelet i designed for diamanti per tutti
